Total Body Thursday: 5x5

 Greetings from the Fitmosphere!

The 5x5 program has been a classic choice for many lifters for decades.  From the Reg Park programs (my favorite classic one!) to Bill Starr's routines, they have taken on many variations and tweaks.

This article covers a lot of those tweaks:

Give it a read and let me know what you think!  Have you had good success with a 5x5 program in the past, and if so, which one did you follow?

Top Tier Tuesday: Back Squat

 Greetings, Fitmosphere Fans!

It's another Top Tier Tuesday, so let's get after the popular Back Squat exercise.

This is a long time classic exercise that many turn to for great leg strength and also added core strength.

Total Body Thursday

 Happy Thursday to you!

Here is a good workout plan from Muscle and Strength for those looking for a simple, total body plan to do as you jump back into a fitness routine at the gym.  From a quick glance at this, a lot of exercises could be done with dumbbells or barbells at home, too.

Top Tier Tuesday

Today on The Fitmosphere, I am starting a theme for Tuesdays called Top Tier Tuesday.  Top Tier refers to the main core lift for most workouts, such as a typical Bench, Squat, Deadlift, or an olympic lifting type of exercise, like Cleans or Snatches.

Let's start this off with a Bench Press exercise article.

This article gives a great history lesson about the bench press exercise.  Enjoy!

The Fitmosphere Blog Begins!

The Fitmosphere is a new blog I'm starting up to review some fitness programs, supplements and new ideas that are out there.  I'm also planning to share my own personal workouts now and then.  I primarily do a mix of kettlebell and dumbbell workouts for strength training, and use ballistic kettlebell exercises and circuits to amp up my cardio efforts.

I've done some blogs/sites from time to time, back in my days as a trainer and later as a coach too. It will be fun to get back into doing this again.

I will have affiliate links for some programs now and then too, just so you are aware of that.

Look ahead to more exciting posts in The Fitmosphere!
